Recruitment
Public schools are governed by the principle of general availability at specific dates. In primary and lower secondary schools (which are slowly being abolished) regionalization is in effect: schools admit children from their region and living within a defined catchment area (i.e. specified districts in Warsaw). Parents are free to decide whether they choose to send their child to the public school serving their catchment area, or instead to enroll at a non-public (private or social) school of their choice.
Curriculum
At every school, whether private or state, the curriculum is identical, as outlined by the Polish Ministry of Education. Of course, some schools extend it for extra classes. Non-public schools in Warsaw are leading in the enrichment of education. They place more emphasis on seeking and discovering talents in their students, and tend to be more attentive to their physical and spiritual development.
