Primary School Piotr Michałowski in Krakow - is a private institution offering children from Poland and abroad an 8-year education cycle - from class I to VIII, compliant with the Polish curriculum and an extended foreign language learning program. On this basis, students develop mathematical, communication and social skills, while learning critical thinking, the ability to acquire and process knowledge, function in society and work in a team, and care for the natural environment. The school represents an individualized approach to students, adapting the content taught, ways of communicating it and the pace of work to the possibilities of children, and pupils with problems in mastering the material provides re-education and compensatory classes. The institution puts a special emphasis on language education. Learning English starts in class 0 and is run every day, 5 hours a week. In class IV, a second foreign language is included - German, Spanish or French, 3 hours per week. In grades VII and VIII, students have the opportunity to study in a bilingual system, i.e. lecture English on selected subjects. Language education is based on various methods and techniques of work, such as communication method, drama, design work and exercises using educational programs and games. In addition, it is supported by conversations with native speakers, club classes (eg English Club, English Film Club), contacts with peers from other countries as part of the eTwinning program, preparation for international exams, weekend trips conducted by anglists and foreign trips. In addition to these activities, the school also conducts numerous activities to develop students, such as theatrical, film, art, music and sports circles and workshops. For foreign language students and those returning from abroad, the school offers the Welcom Program, which speeds up the learning of the Polish language. The school is run by the Towarzystwo Społecznej Szkoła Podstawowej im. Piotr Michałowski (TSSP), which also offers education in kindergarten, middle school and general high school.
