The Our Kids review of Scouts Canada

    our take

Kids lead the way at Scouts Canada. It is almost a choose your own adventure-type atmosphere. The activities are youth-led, with adults just there to supervise and guide. Scouting is said to shape lives in a positive way, where kids can disconnect from the “real world” and reconnect with themselves, their communities, themselves, and their peers. The skills learned at Scouts help prepare young people for the future, with leadership and independence being developed in everything they do. Scouts Canada believes kids are capable of anything if they are given the right opportunities. Safety is a first priority and Scouts has developed very comprehensive policies over their many years, to ensure kids don’t get hurt. Volunteers are often pillars of their community, people who love working with kids and are former Scouts themselves. What’s unique about Scouts is that it is like its own respected community, except everyone is welcome.

    Youth Leadership

We sure do love our Scouting family and all that they do. Scouting has provided my kids with so any wonderful opportunities. As a youth-led movement they have learned to lead others with respect. They have learned to try, and that failing is not a bad thing but rather a way of learning. They now can take that knowledge and apply it to school, other activities and parts or their lives. ...
