One idea, One image, One saying, that is all it takes to create something bold, personal, and totally unique. In this silk-screening workshop, you’ll explore how a single concept can turn into wearable art. The best thing about this is that you do not need to be very skilled at drawing! Between you, me, and Mr. Google, we will explore the vast historical, diverse, quirky, and iconic imagery found in Canadian stamps. All this inspiration will certainly help guide us to create something interesting and enjoyable. A trip to the National Art Gallery will also fuel our inspiration.
What to bring: You will need to provide a clean (preferably white but can be coloured) t-shirt or any fabric, (pair of pants, pillows, tote bags, your mom’s wedding dress :), or whatever your pleasure), to print your design on.
What to expect? A week of fun, discovery, and hands-on art-making. Your idea, your design, your creation.
