International French Summer Camp in Megève – Ages 6–17

The International Language Camps offers children and teens ages 6–17 the opportunity to learn French while experiencing an international summer in Megève, in the heart of the French Alps and approximately one hour from Geneva.

Established in 1996, ILC combines French language learning, Alpine adventures, sports, cultural discovery and friendships with campers from around the world.

Unlike large summer camps, ILC intentionally remains small, welcoming around 40 campers per week with approximately one adult for every five campers. This personal approach allows children and teenagers to enjoy an international environment while being individually known and supported throughout their stay.

Learn French by Living It

Our philosophy is simple: you don't just learn a language – you live it.

French lessons focus on communication and practical use rather than passive learning. Classes are organised according to language level and limited to eight students, allowing every camper to participate, speak and progress with confidence.

Learning continues beyond the classroom. Through activities, excursions, everyday camp life and friendships, campers have opportunities to use French naturally and connect the language with real experiences.

The result is much more than a traditional language course: French becomes part of an international summer adventure.

Three Programs Designed to Grow with Your Child

Our programs are organised by age so that activities, challenges and levels of independence evolve as campers grow.

FUN Program – Ages 6–9
Designed especially for younger campers, including children experiencing their first residential camp away from home. French learning is combined with playful activities, sports, creative experiences and Alpine discovery in a caring and supportive environment.

ADRENALINE Program – Ages 10–13
French immersion meets adventure. Campers enjoy increasingly challenging sports and outdoor activities while developing confidence, independence, teamwork and friendships with children from around the world.

TEENS MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE – Ages 14–17
A dedicated experience for teenagers combining French immersion with mountain adventure, outdoor experiences and personal development. Teens are encouraged to develop independence, decision-making, teamwork, communication, initiative and leadership while sharing their summer with an international group.

A Typical Day at ILC

Morning:
Interactive French lessons in small groups of no more than eight students. Classes focus on communication, participation and practical language skills.

Afternoon:
Sports, outdoor adventures, cultural discoveries and creative activities adapted to each age group. Depending on the program and conditions, campers may experience activities such as hiking, rafting, climbing, mountain biking and other Alpine adventures.

Evening:
Residential campers come together for supervised games, entertainment, social activities and time with their international friends.

Every day combines learning, activity, discovery and social interaction while allowing campers to progressively build confidence and independence.

Premium Hotel Accommodation in the Heart of Megève

One of the distinctive features of the ILC residential experience is the quality of its accommodation.

Rather than staying in traditional camp dormitories, our residential campers stay at Hôtel Au Vieux Moulin, a high-quality hotel located in the centre of Megève.

After a full day of languages, activities and Alpine adventures, campers return to a comfortable and welcoming hotel environment where they can relax, recharge and spend time with their friends.

ILC staff are present at the hotel day and night, providing continuity of supervision throughout the residential experience.

This combination of an international summer camp and quality hotel accommodation offers families a distinctive alternative to traditional residential camps: children and teenagers enjoy the excitement, friendships and growing independence of camp life while benefiting from comfort and attentive supervision.

Small Camp, Personal Attention

ILC deliberately maintains a small-scale approach.

With around 40 campers per week, approximately one adult for every five campers, and language classes limited to eight students, campers are not simply part of a large group.

Our team can get to know them individually, encourage them to participate, help them integrate into camp life and support them as they become increasingly independent.

For international families sending a child abroad, this personal approach is an essential part of the ILC experience.

An International Experience in the French Alps

Campers meet young people from different countries, cultures and linguistic backgrounds. Through living, learning and experiencing adventures together, they discover new perspectives and develop their ability to communicate with others.

Megève and the surrounding French Alps become part of that experience. Campers discover mountain life, French culture and the Alpine environment while creating friendships that can continue long after summer ends.

For campers staying two weeks or more, additional Sunday excursions may provide opportunities to discover destinations such as Chamonix, the Mer de Glace, the Aiguille du Midi, Annecy and other Alpine locations.

More Than a French Language Camp

The International Language Camps brings together French immersion, Alpine adventure, international friendships, personal development and premium hotel accommodation in one experience.

Children and teenagers can improve their French while developing confidence, independence, teamwork and openness to other cultures.

Families can choose stays from one to five weeks, allowing each camper to experience ILC at a pace that suits them.

For children ages 6–9 taking their first steps towards independence, 10–13-year-olds looking for adventure, or teenagers ages 14–17 ready for greater challenges, ILC offers an age-appropriate pathway through an international summer in Megève.
