International French Day Camp in Megève

International French Day Camp in Megève

Give your child the opportunity to learn French while experiencing summer in the French Alps. The International Language Camps' French Day Camp welcomes children and teens ages 6–17 to Megève for a unique combination of French language learning, Alpine adventures, sports and international friendships.

Established in 1996, ILC deliberately remains a small international camp, welcoming around 40 campers per week with approximately one adult for every five campers. Day campers join the same international community and daytime activities as our residential campers while returning to their families or local accommodation at the end of the day.

Learn French by Living It

French is not limited to the classroom. Campers develop their language skills through small-group lessons, communication, activities and everyday interaction.

Language classes are limited to eight students, allowing teachers to encourage participation and adapt learning to each camper's level. Lessons focus on practical communication and help children gain confidence using French in real-life situations.

Outside the classroom, Megève becomes part of the learning experience. Campers continue discovering French language and culture while sharing activities and experiences with young people from different countries.

A Day Filled with Learning and Adventure

Each camp day combines language learning, physical activity and social interaction. Depending on the program and age group, campers enjoy a variety of sports, outdoor adventures, creative activities and mountain experiences.

A typical day includes:

• Morning: French language lessons focused on communication and participation.
• Lunch: Time to eat, relax and socialise with the international camp community.
• Afternoon: Sports, outdoor activities and Alpine adventures adapted to each age group.
• End of day: Day campers return to their families after sharing the full daytime camp experience.

Three Programs Designed Around Age

Our activities and experiences evolve with our campers:

FUN Program – Ages 6–9
A playful introduction to languages, activities and international camp life, designed around the needs and rhythm of younger children.

ADRENALINE Program – Ages 10–13
Language learning combines with increasingly adventurous sports and outdoor activities, encouraging confidence, curiosity and teamwork.

TEENS MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE – Ages 14–17
A dedicated program for teenagers combining language learning with mountain adventure, independence, teamwork, decision-making and international friendships.

A Small International Camp

What makes ILC different is its intentionally personal scale. With around 40 campers each week and a 1:5 staff-to-camper ratio, children are known and supported as individuals.

The international environment also means that learning extends far beyond language lessons. Campers communicate across cultures, make friends from around the world and develop confidence, independence and openness to others.
