Located just 1h west of Ottawa, our Adventure Resort is perfectly situated on the beautiful Ottawa River. The resort caters to not only water-based activities, but a wide range of great land-based sports. Our signature Teen Resident Kayak Camp was the first of its kind to cater to the budding whitewater enthusiasts. The Ottawa River provides the ideal location with its warm, deep and safe rapids. Our instructors are handpicked internationally recognized kayakers and are World Champions or Olympians! Mountain biking, rock climbing and high ropes courses are just a few activities every camper sees. Those who graduate can move on to our “Keener Program” which has a reputation for developing World Champion kayakers.

Wilderness Tours is founded on an ethos of discipline, bravery and leadership. The company has been an adventure industry pioneer since 1975 when founder Joe Kowalski built a world class rafting experience after his career as an army Captain.
Outdoor education is a core element of Wilderness Tours. Algonquin College partners with Wilderness Tours exclusively to deliver the hard skills that make up their 2-year Outdoor Adventure diploma program.
The Camp Wilderness Experience is steeped in community, youth-development, outdoor adventure and fun.

OUR KIDS review of Wilderness Tours Adventure Resort
Wilderness Tours’ standout mix of day and overnight camps challenges kids to develop outdoor skills and face down multisport challenges. Set against the Ottawa River’s rugged scenery and surrounding nature, camps build independence, courage, resilience, and confidence through immersive adventure. Day camps are an engaging multi-activity experience, where campers three and up explore hiking, kayaking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, survival skills, team games, and leadership challenges in a supportive setting. Teens and older kids can take adventure to the next level with overnight camps like WT's flagship youth kayaking camp, The Keener Program. It’s known for producing world-class paddlers and kayakers, but also for the personal growth campers gain. Shorter kayak programs like the Teen Kayak Camp offer structured, intense instruction by pros, shared accommodations, group meals, and there's even a Mountain Bike overnight camp. Any WT camp is a singular experience. Campers come away with a deeper realization of personal strengths, quiet confidence, and an amplified ability to adapt.
