Types of taekwondo classes

There are taekwondo classes and lessons for kids of many ages and skill levels. For instance, there are taekwondo classes for toddlers, 3 year-olds, and older preschoolers. There’s also taekwondo for older kids and adolescents. As far as levels go, taekwondo lessons can be for  beginners, and those with intermediate and advanced skills.

Some taekwondo classes take place in the evening or after school. But there are also summer taekwondo programs. These programs might be offered as part of a summer camp specializing in taekwondo, or offering it as one activity among many others.

What a taekwondo class has to offer

Taekwondo classes teach kids the art of self-defence. Like other martial art classes and camps, kids are taught basic techniques. They’re also given focused in training in taekwondo techniques, including punches, kicks, and how to use one’s upper and lower body effectively. Kids also are given strength and conditioning training and learn breathing techniques. They may also learn about the history and philosophy of taekwondo.

  • White belt (beginner level)
  • Orange belt (beginner level)
