This program is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Creativity: As an arts organization, NPCC provides a space where creative curiosity is encouraged and participants get to experience the benefits of trying new ideas and techniques in the artwork they create.
  • Interpersonal skills: Through shared creative experiences, students learn to express their ideas, listen to others, and provide constructive feedback. Collaborative projects promote teamwork, encouraging students to work together and have fun!

While learning fundamental art skills, young creatives explore a wide variety of materials and techniques in painting, drawing and sculpture. Fundamentals of colour mixing and material use open the way to glow paints, reflective and translucent specialty materials, etchings and creative ways to use paper through stencil art, layering, collage and dimensional art. Seasoned NPCC instructor Tawni provides expert step-by-step instruction and support through a series of exciting and wall-worthy projects. All materials are included.
