What will my child learn in a breakdancing lesson or class?

Breakdance, or b-boy, is one of the most athletic dance styles. Like hip hop and ballet, it involves a variety of moves requiring strength, skill, coordination, and dexterity. Some of the moves your child may learn including the following:

    • airflare
    • float
    • drop
    • flare
    • headspin
    • kick
    • spin
    • windmill
    • toprock

Your child will be taught by a trained instructor. The instructor will go through the basics of the dance moves, step-by-step. And your child will learn these moves through practice and repetition, both on their own and in groups. Your child may also be encouraged to engage in freestyle breakdancing, to stir their creative juices.
