As a parent, I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience my 6-year-old son had attending the Young Engineers classes. From the very beginning, the classes were engaging and fun, blending learning with hands-on activities that really sparked his interest in science, engineering, and problem-solving. The
The instructors are amazing—patient, encouraging, and skilled at making complex concepts easy to understand for young minds. My son absolutely loved building models, working with his peers, and seeing his creations come to life. The curriculum was designed in a way that kept him excited for each new lesson.

It was incredible to watch him grow in confidence, not only in his abilities to create and innovate, but also in his teamwork and communication skills. I appreciate how the classes nurtured his curiosity and helped him build a foundation for STEM learning at such a young age.

Overall, the Young Engineers program exceeded my expectations. It's not just about building structures and machines; it’s about fostering creativity, developing problem-solving skills, and encouraging a love for learning that will stay with him as he grows. Highly recommended for any child with an interest in exploring the world of engineering!

Many thanks to Xiaru and all the instructors!!

My son had started when this was just opening.. At first, we were a little bit hesitant but as soon as we met them, my son right away enjoyed Building and creating what he is imagining is cool. They are very helpful and show them techniques and explains very thorough to help them learn & grow. Xiaru & Coach Julien are amazing, patient with the kids & importantly, everyone loves what they are doing! For the new people curious I suggest to try out a class. Kids make friends and they are keeping busy creating fun and new things !! Highly recommended for those engineering thinkers ;) we need our kids to take over this world & keep things safe : ... Xiaru and her team of instructors really focus on each child, building their confidence and understanding of each module, week over week. I've seen my daughter's ability to understand the mechanics of her creations grow leaps and bounds. Best part is she looks forward to the class every week. Can't recommend this program enough ... I put my son (going into grade 2) in one of the High Park Young Engineers Summer Camp programs for one week, and I’ve been so impressed with the quality of learning and care. Most of the summer camps available, it seems, fall into the category of “teens keeping kids alive” -- and while this program costs quite a bit more than those, considering what my son is learning and becoming excited about is really wonderful to watch. I’ll be signing him up for an after school program for sure ... Show More

Two of my kids (6, 8) have attended Young Engineers for PA Day Camps and week-long summer camps. They have consistently enjoyed the programming which is great mix of "engineering", learning through play and outdoor time which I appreciate as a parent. I love that the kids learn-by-doing and are encouraged to see "mistakes" as opportunities for innovation and growth. The programming seems to really cultivate a love for science. With other camp programs the kids are sometimes mixed about whether or not they want to return, but when they attend Young Engineers they always ask me to sign them up again ... Show More

Our five-year-old has absolutely loved attending Young Engineers. As a Lego enthusiast, he was immediately drawn to their booth when we visited a Christmas market. The team took the time to engage with him patiently and thoughtfully, providing us with detailed information and making us feel confident and excited about enrolling him.

Each week, I enjoy hearing him talk enthusiastically about what he has learned. As a parent, it is incredibly rewarding to find an activity where your child truly thrives. Young Engineers does an excellent job of fostering hands-on learning for children who love to build, tinker, and understand how things work.

I also cannot say enough about how well the program is run. The organization, communication, and flexibility shown to families make the experience even more positive.

We have been very impressed and would highly recommend Young Engineers to other families

This was our first experience with Young Engineers and first camp and we couldn't be happier. When we registered I didn't realize the theme of the week was "The City of Tomorrow" and wasn't sure if our son would enjoy it but he loved it! Incredibly interactive, informative and fun. They got to be hands on, visit 2 architecture firms and still got to play with robotics, which was a big bonus for him. Xiaru was a fantastic director and kept us connected throughout the day. Pleasantly surprised with the experience and look forward to next summer ... Show More

My six-year-old absolutely loves Young Engineers. The teacher-to-student ratio is excellent, which means the kids get lots of attention and support as they learn. They’re exposed to really interesting concepts in a fun, engaging way, and my child is always excited to share what they built or discovered in class.

I also really appreciate the clear communication with parents and the convenient class locations. Overall, it’s been a very positive experience and I would highly recommend the program

My six-year-old participated in the summer camp this year. It was hands-down, the best programming and facilitation I’ve ever seen at a kids camp. Every day they brought in a guest from a different field of engineering and did activities and projects related to that specialty. So much practical hands-on knowledge translation. Just another reason to wish that summer would never end ... Show More

OUR KIDS review of Young Engineers Toronto West End

our take

Young Engineers High Park offers a robust mix of camps and year-round STEM programs for kids who love building, experimenting, and figuring out how things work. Standout features are the sheer breadth of options, the thoughtful structuring of each program, and low staff-to-student ratios. Buildable models and custom sets help kids understand STEM concepts through hands-on learning as they create machines, models and robots. Age-appropriate programming means young kids can start with early coding and science-based building, while older kids can move into mechanics, coding logic, robotics, and engineering. It can be an ongoing, continuous learning pathway for any child. The focus in everything is on making education thrilling as early on as possible. Camps’ liberating setting helps kids learn collaboration and gain other soft skills like resilience and problem-solving, while having fun with other kids from the area.
