(5) Overall experience

OTA has been amazing for our family. We know our girls are safe after school while we are at work and they are staying active and engaged with other children instead of sitting on screens. They come home hungry and tired and we love it there. We do all the camps and the PD Day sessions as well as after-school programming. The instructors make the program, they are amazing with their communication, we trust them with our kid’s safety and they are kind and friendly at pick up. Our kids rave about their teachers Cherysse and Andrea.

(5) Reason for choosing the camp

It provided us with the after-school care hours we needed with the activities we wanted for our kids. Our kids are high energy and needed something after school to get their moods and energy levels up and OTA provided that for us. They also get to remain in the same building which gives us peace of mind that they don’t have to leave school property.

(5) Program quality and activities

The quality purely stems from the great instructors, our kids would do any activity as long as Cherysse and Andrea were their instructors. They make the programming fun and engaging and our kids respond well to them both. The program is easy to sign up for and pay for online which makes my day easier, and I know that the quality of the programming doesn’t waiver from camp to camp or program to program. We love the consistency.

(5) Social dynamics and experience

Our kids attend together so they have the confidence to make friends with others, and they attend with some schoolmates in different classes which they love. They have made new friends in other classes and in the older classes they wouldn’t normally see during school. Our kids always have fun stories to tell from their day and are happy to share.

(5) Skills and growth

They have both learned so many new sports they haven’t yet had the experience trying such as pickleball, cricket, hockey and basketball and they love all the fun adventure-style games such as the obstacle course, craft time and games that they get to play. They also love the music that is played during the camps and after school and we get to enjoy it at home too.

(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors

The staff make OTA amazing. They are high energy, kind but firm with the kids which they need and they communicate with the parents very well and effectively. We stayed with OTA for their summer program because we know the instructors will be consistent and our kids know them and trust them as well.

(5) Advice and tips

Set a reminder in your calendar to pay for the after-school care each month, since it is not automatically billed. Send a pair of running shoes in the winter so your child is not running around in boots and send a few extra snacks as they are so active that they get hungry and thirsty. My advice would be to enjoy the time that your child gets to be active and engaged in so many fun activities!
