Teens in Competition

The team at Forest City CrossFit is super proud of David (14) and Braiden (13) from our Elite Teen Athletic Training program for recently participating in the Festivus Games Competition, representing Forest City CrossFit in the Novice Male Division. While the Festivus Games is a competition geared toward novice and intermediate athletes, it’s generally intended for adults, so it was a big deal for David and Braiden to say “yes” when encouraged to participate. It was the first time for both in a functional fitness competitive environment. The event had them go through for grueling workouts over the course of the day, competing alongside 30 other teams. They took advantage of guidance and support from our Owner/Head Coach Jamie to help prepare, identifying challenges they’d face and strategizing accordingly to ensure they could maximize their performance while maintaining their safety. During the competition they stayed focused, worked hard, and realized they were capable of much more than they thought there were. They proudly stood on the first-place podium for their division. We’re very proud of David and Braiden, and they both look forward to competing again.
