George Meyor (parent)Camp Davern was everything I'd hoped it'd be for my son When I picked my son up he came towards me with this big goofy smile on his face, that told me all I needed to know. He loved it, from spotting a family of painted turtles while swimming to playing games with the counsellors and other kids, it was everything I'd hoped it'd be. |
Nicole Beaulne (alumnus)Long Live Camp Davern! I was there in the 70's and had an awesome time. So many good memories of canoeing, singing around the campfire, crafts, cleaning the loo... Met so many wonderful caring counsellors and campers. LONG LIVE CAMP DAVERN. |

Laura G (parent)So grateful to Camp Davern Our 12 year old son had an amazing camp experience at Camp Davern. He has ADHD and had never been to camp before, so I was a little concerned beforehand. However, I shouldn’t have been. He enjoyed so many of the activities- archery, paddle boarding, canoe basketball, etc. He enjoyed the other the other boys i... Show More |

Alicia Isnor (parent)Great Camp with extra attention on kids with Celiac Camp Davern does a gluten-free camp for two weeks in August. This is fantastic for celiac kids who otherwise would never be able to have a sleep away camping experience. The programming was fun and the councillors were friendly and kind. My daughter had a wonderful time. |
Claire Seybold (parent)Love this camp! Love this camp! My kids came home talking about all the adventures and fun they had. It was definitely a positive experience in terms of developing their independence and confidence as well. Because it was my daughter’s first time, the camp sent us an email update halfway through the week to let us know ho... Show More |
Matt (parent)Mosquito Bites Fade But the Memories Never Do! Our 12 year old daughter returned from Camp Davern yesterday exhausted, mildly bruised, and bitten (by mosquitos) after having the time of her life. She's told us she can't wait to return next year. From a parental perspective, the booking was straightforward and communication was prompt and courteous. Big reco... Show More |
Parent (parent)Camp Celiac Success! My daughter just returned from Camp Celiac hosted by Camp Davern and she is brimming with joy and confidence about her experience. Vanessa (parent)Best camp ever!
Best camp ever! My son had an incredible experience. If you’re looking for an authentic, traditional camp with great activities and nothing but fun, this is the one. |
Pat (camper)A Great Experience I wasn't sure about Davern initially, maybe it was just the thought of being away from my parents for the first time in my life. After my first night there my mind was changed. Amazing people, beautiful site, tasty food. Overall just a great experience. |
Lisa Greaves (parent)This Gorgeous Place Davern is a gorgeous place which will take kids away from the city and technology into a place where people get to know their best friends and their best selves. So thrilled to see Davern continuing to make magic and to see a camp that is more accessible financially than so many other places. |

Davern was established in 1946, and the values that it was founded with remain to this day. Of course, the world in 1946 was very different than today, but then, as now, there was a desire to get kids away from the stresses of life, to allow them to spread their wings a bit in a place beyond the concerns of school and home. It’s a place where kids have an opportunity to spend some time closer to nature and, by extension, through a different set of priorities and at a slower pace. The program is overseen by executive director Andrew Martin, who also directs Camp Can-Aqua, another great Canadian camp. He’s a champion of what traditional camping can bring to a young person’s life. The facilities are wonderful in that they continue to display the long history of the camp, while being up to date in all the essential ways. The site is gorgeous, which is a draw, though the values, spirit, and culture of the camp are the things that families and campers appreciate most.
