Amazing and unlike any other training centre

Our daughter Rayna, now 15 years old, has been with Bravo Academy since she was seven, and with Bravo's help, we have seen her grow both as an artist and emotionally over these eight years. Under the voice teaching of Artistic Director Melissa Bencic, Rayna has developed a mature classical and music theatre voice that even now surprises us every time she performs. Because of her association with Bravo, Rayna has won multiple awards, been admitted into a prominent arts high school, and of course she has been in many productions and recitals at Bravo Academy over many years. We have also seen her develop as a performer, not just a musician. At Bravo, she participates in music theatre, voice lessons, dance lessons, piano and theory lessons, even ukulele lessons!

At the same time, we have watched Bravo itself develop over the years, from a small music theatre school into a mature institution that is now capable of producing performers at all levels of the performing arts. The faculty is first rate, sharing not only their talent and teaching skills with students, but helping them to become mature and balanced young men and women. Members of the faculty, including Grammy nominated pianist Kara Huber, are themselves professional performers, adding an unparalleled excitement to the atmosphere at Bravo.

Bravo Academy for the Performing Arts is a wonderful program for kids who have a love for musical theatre. Our daughter has been in the Youth Troupe for 3 years, and she also takes private vocal and piano lessons. The teachers create a professional yet fun atmosphere. I highly recommend it!

Better than any performing arts school in Toronto! My daughter trained at Bravo Academy for 5 years, moving up the various levels of music theatre troupes and taking private vocal lessons. The end result was that she got accepted into every vocal performance university program that she applied to (including U of T, McGill and UBC) and had several scholarship offers. The performing arts training available at a Bravo is second to none, but moreover my daughter had the time of her life! We could not have imagined the ride we are taking

Bravo academy has been a fabulous experience for our daughters. Daniela started with Bravo when she was eight, and is she is now almost 14 year old. Over this time her talent for singing and acting has emerged in a way that could not have happened without Bravo. It has opened up a world for her that we, her parents, could not have imagined without Bravo. She has worked with young Canadian composers and participated in competitions throughout Ontario. The teachers at Bravo are exceptional. They are very skilled and knowledgeable and all have experience working in professional settings. Because of our wonderful experience with Daniela, Robyn our younger daughter age 10 has also started with Bravo and her experiences are similar to Daniela's. What Melissa has built here, Bravo Academy, is truly the best children (and adolescent) musical theatre school and program I could ever imagine. What she has also created here, besides magic and self esteem and community and love of theatre and dreams is a family where kids find other people like them and can grow and take risks, make mistakes, learn, develop all within the safest, most supportive, loving and stimulating environment. I love what Bravo does, the risks taken, the choices of daunting and unique (and Canadian!!) shows exposing the kids to new and creative work. Amazing part of my life

Bravo has been an amazing part of my life. I started troupe in grade 9, and now that I'm going into my last year of college, I work here as a graphic designer! If you or your children are at all interested in Music Theatre or performance if any kind, I highly recommend you give Bravo a try!

Student looks forward to online private voice lessons

“Our daughter really looks forward to her singing lessons with you, and seeing you twice a week now while we do the makeups, the singing lessons are serving as a calm anchor in this storm. She is quite ambivalent about the Zoom lessons coming from her school and finds them alienating and frustrating, but your class is actually the one Zoom lesson that seems to translate really well to the medium (and/or you just know how to use it effectively) and she is excited and engaged.
