Campers finishing Grade 8 can participate in our two-week Leader-in-Training (LIT) program, where engaging, hands-on activities help strengthen lifelong leadership skills. Throughout the program, participants will develop effective communication, collaboration, problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities, along with practical strategies for navigating peer-to-peer dynamics. With a strong focus on teamwork and shared responsibility, campers will learn to support, motivate and lead one another through a variety of group challenges. By the end of the two weeks, L.I.T.s will gain confidence, stronger interpersonal skills and a deeper understanding of what it means to be a positive, influential peer leader.
LITs can earn up to 10 Ontario Community Involvement Hours toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) by putting their leadership skills into action—supporting younger campers, facilitating activities and helping create a fun and positive camp experience for everyone. The L.I.T. program also includes an exciting overnight experience that challenges participants to work collaboratively and lead with confidence. During the overnight, L.I.T.s will be encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, take initiative and build independence and resilience while taking responsibility for themselves and their peers. In a supportive environment, campers reflect on their growth as leaders and teammates, creating memories and skills that last far beyond our overnight campfire.
Campers will receive their Basic First Aid certification upon completion.
