Rivers Edge annual Cowboy Country Christmas was a huge success with 365 attendees from Calgary, Red Deer, Cremona, Cochrane and surrounding communities. This family event included an action packed day that included wagon rides, wall climbing, fun and games, hot drinks, a balloon drop and stomp filled with prizes, pony rides, bouncy castles and a sawdust dig for prizes for the young kids.
All of this was followed by a turkey dinner with all the fixings and dessert. Larry and Debi Hooper and Friends provided the entertainment, which included Christmas Carols and audience participation.
This year the planning for the event placed emphasis on including more attendees from the local community. Approximately 35% of the attendees were families and individuals who previously were not aware of Rivers Edge Camp & Retreat Centre. The price of admission was a donation of food to the Mountain View Food Bank.
The event raised over $20,000.00 for Rivers Edge.
