Fashion Takes Action: January 23rd
The grade 4-6 classes participated in a full day, in school field trip called Fashion Takes Action. They learned about the social and environmental impacts of the globalized garment industry, and how they can make consumer choices that make a difference. They engaged in an upcycle project to create a scarf out of an old t-shirt, group discussions, videos, and mapping activities to increase their global consciousness.

Polar Expressions Finalists: January 24th
GAA was thrilled to announce our Polar Expressions Poetry finalists – we had over 50 students selected for their entries in the final Polar Expressions Poetry Anthology, from SK-grade 8. Well done GAA!
Clifford the Dog: Wednesday January 25th
Clifford, a GAA family assistance dog, visited Glenn Arbour for Literacy Week. Students got the opportunity to read to Clifford and visit him while he was at work. Students read short stories, poems, and book chapters to Clifford in order to practice their fluency and comprehension skills. Thank you for visiting us, Clifford!
Family Literacy Day: January 27th
Glenn Arbour teachers and students dressed as their favourite literary characters to celebrate Family Literacy Day on January 27th! Students shared in conversations about their favourite books, reading spots and characters! In classrooms, students engaged in fun literacy activities to celebrate this important day!
Chinese New Year!
Throughout the week, Student Council presented Chinese New Year facts, which culminated in a final Chinese New Year Trivia Game! Students won fun prizes for showing their knowledge!
