Our students were thrilled again this year to have their stories, and poems selected from thousands of students across Canada to be published in the Polar Expressions Anthologies. Each winning student received a certificate to recognize their outstanding achievement in 2014/2015 National Student Poetry and Short Story Contest. The collection of this year's poems entitled "Treasured Beats" and the collection of short stories, entitled, "Moster Mash," are soft covered books which will showcase the very best poems and short stories, written by today's Canadian students from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 5. We are excited to announce the Third Place Prize to our very own student, Hannah Nardone, for her wonderful grade 5 submission. We are honoured to have so many creative and talented students at GAA to recieve this honour and who willing shared their writings to be compared with peers across Canada. Our teachers are commited to programming language lessons to foster the love of writing and to encourage the importance of the power of words. This book will be a cherished keepsake for our students!
