Green Team
Throughout the month of October, the Green Team has been busy collecting batteries, educating ourselves on the importance of proper battery disposal and learning about what happens to all of our garbage, compost and recycling once we put it at the end of our driveway. We also began our Green Team mascot contest. Each Green Team member has been busy designing a mascot representing GAA's Green mission. Once completed, members will vote on which mascot they feel best represents our Green Team initiatives.
Remembrance Day Ceremony
On Friday November 11th, Glenn Arbour gathered to remember our veterans and the contributions they made for the rights and freedoms we enjoy today. The ceremony featured a piper as well as class presentations in JK through to grade 8 to recognize the achievements, contributions and sacrifices made by those who fought for our country. Students acknowledged their respect by laying poppies on the school display and cross as a special token of remembrance.
Grade 7/8 Living Arts Centre
The grade 7 and 8 students spent the day at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. In the morning we saw a captivating and energetic dance performance by the I.am.me dance crew. In the afternoon we had a hands-on art workshop where students made a variety of three dimensional clay masks. What an amazing day to experience different forms of art!
