Our Perspective on The Learning Nest Academy - North York

Learning Nest Academy is an early-learning school for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The school’s proprietary Nest-EQ framework extends Montessori-based learning into four interconnected areas of development, with particular attention to thinking, emotional development, creativity, adaptability, and independence. Rather than treating these as secondary “soft skills,” Learning Nest makes them central to its conception of early education and preparation for a changing world. A notable feature of the North York campus is the intentionality built into both the environment and the teaching process. Specialized learning spaces support different forms of exploration and creation, while educators document children’s work so they can observe and extend their development over time. The campus also has a large, tree-lined outdoor learning area and places significant emphasis on nutrition, with menus developed in consultation with a pediatric dietitian.

(4.5) Parent, Ryan Stagno (2026) Nursery/Toddler (current) — The facilities are very clean, the staff are very caring, and the food is excellent. We have ha... The leadership team seems very competent. We do get regular updates in terms of curriculum priorities, upcoming developments, special events(and the rationale and learning development opportunities of each) via email/Kindertal... Teachers at Learning Nest are very good. They clearly care very much for the children, and it’s very encouraging to see them create such a welcoming, warm, and loving space. My daughter is very often coming home, saying new ... This is very similar to the answer above it without trying to repeat myself too much. The curriculum at Learning Nest seems very robust. What I can say is that my daughter is enthusiastic about going to school each day but cle... I’m not sure what exactly the extracurriculars are (it’s not like the kids are playing baseball - the curriculum includes outside time, so it’s not extracurricular). However, if we are going to include their outside time... The students seem nice. I don’t know any of them personally. My daughter seems to have friends and says their names excitedly, so she’s clearly benefiting from the social engagement and always enjoys going to school. The c... My daughter does love going to school at the Learning Nest. I think it’s a very multi factor reasoning, but certainly having good teachers, lots of activities, and a fun and educational environment plays a role. To be honest... I think the community of the living nest has been very kind and welcoming (as far as relative strangers go). I now recognize most of the parents as they’re doing pick-up or drop-off around the same time as me, and there’s ... The location is extremely convenient and is basically the main reason why we decided to go with the Learning Nest (we decided to stay for the variety of reasons outlined above). Being so close to the subway means that I can dr... The admissions process was pretty easy as far as I remember. She joined the toddler room (probably easier than joining from the infant room because the toddlers need less care, relatively), and we really only had to do trial d... The facility is close to our house and close to public transit, meaning drop-offs in the morning are significantly easier. They also have a stroller shed, which helps facilitate an easy drop-off. It aligned with my expectations in the sense that she enjoys being around her peers and picks up new skills because she sees them do it.	all_reviews parent	1,12,13,14,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,
(5) Parent, Valentin Sotov (2026) Nursery/Toddler (current) — I think the best part about the daycare is the educators. My child was surrounded by so much at... Again, I think the leadership and administration are great. Everything was communicated effectively; whatever question we had was answered immediately. Administrators knew us by name, and we felt like there was a nice human el... Teachers are the best part of the daycare. The majority of teachers stayed the same throughout our time at Nest Academy, so our daughter was always cared for by the same people, which is really important. Teachers had gotten t... My daughter is only a year old, so it's tough to say exactly how much she is benefiting from Academic culture. That being said, I do like the fact that Nest Academy has a philosophy and an approach chosen for kids to adhere to... My daughter could barely sit by herself when she entered the Nest Academy, and now, five months later, she is almost walking. Again, as an infant, it's hard to say exactly what kinds of extracurriculars could be offered for he... She is 1 year old, so they don't really interact too much. But I saw a real effort from the teachers to make sure that everyone is involved. I like the fact that all students eat together using their little tables; I like the ... It took my daughter about a week to get used to being dropped off at daycare. I actually was a little bit worried, because she was going through a "stranger-danger" phase during that time. But all the teachers are really profe... Nest Academy did a really nice job of involving parents. For a lot of the holidays, kids are making crafts to take home, and as a parent, it's really nice to receive something like that. On Mother's Day and Father's Day, there... The location is nice as it's on a subway station. I don't think there is much around it. I know there is a music school for kids nearby, but again, our daughter is too young for now to do any of that. I like the outdoor part o... Everything was really straightforward. That being said, we didn't know if we got the spot until we toured the facilities. I think it would be nice to issue a waiting list number or something like that. Back at the beginning, w... At first, it was the only daycare that had availability to take our daughter. Later on, we did receive offers from other daycares, but ultimately the location was fairly nice for us to commute to, and we had gotten used to the... Overall, Learning Nest Academy exceeded all of my expectations. My daughter was cared for; she slept well and ate well, and I felt safe leaving her at daycare every single time.	all_reviews parent	1,12,13,14,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,
