Rundle Academy delivers this in an intentional, purpose-built setting, while Rundle Studio brings this well-supported framework online to students across Alberta.

Our commitment to small class sizes and close teacher-student relationships means we intentionally limit our enrolment and cannot accommodate every family who wishes to join us. Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, we curate our academic and co-curricular offerings to ensure every program we deliver offers genuine quality and meaningful participation. Rundle Academy and Rundle Studio require a diagnosed learning disability and an unmodified curriculum fit, ensuring our specialized resources remain deeply effective for the students they were built to serve. Academic rigor matters, but so do curiosity, kindness, character, and well-being. We develop graduates who know who they are, what they value, and where they want to go next. Their grades may be impressive; their grades are the least impressive thing about them.
Rundle’s history has been shaped by a willingness to evolve in response to the needs of students and families while remaining grounded in its core educational values. The expansion of Rundle Academy into a new, purpose-built campus represents a significant milestone in the school’s commitment to differentiated education, creating greater capacity and an environment designed specifically to support students with learning disabilities. The creation and evolution of Rundle Studio represents another important step, extending Rundle’s specialized approach to learning through a fully online model for students across Alberta. Together, these developments reflect Rundle’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to the right learning environment while maintaining the personalized education and strong relationships at the heart of the school.

For Rundle Academy (Grades 4-12): We serve students with diagnosed learning disabilities (in reading, writing, or math) and average to above-average intellectual ability who will thrive in a supportive, specialized in-person environment.
For Rundle Studio (Grades 10-12): We look for students with diagnosed learning disabilities and/or ADHD who possess average to above-average capability, along with the independence, family support, and desire for social connection needed to succeed in an online format.
We are upfront about who we are because we want every student to land in the environment where they will thrive best. We would advise against Rundle if:

Grades are the Only Metric: If a family’s primary expectation is a transactional, grade-obsessed environment where academic output and the post-secondary destination are the sole metrics of success, our broader, well-being-centred view of student development will not align with their needs.

We are constantly refining our environment and programming to better serve our students and staff:
Academy Campus Expansion: We initiated the Building Futures campaign, creating a state-of-the-art, 40,000-square-foot facility for Rundle Academy tailored specifically to differentiated learning. Phase 1 (the Academic Wing) opened in August 2026, and we aim to open Phase 2 (the Co-Curricular Wing) in fall 2028.
Sharpened Online Model: Rundle Studio refined its focus to better meet the academic and social needs of high school students learning online across Alberta.
Foundational Literacy & Numeracy: We strengthened elementary learning by integrating evidence-based approaches, including the Science of Reading, to build strong early foundations.
Experiential Learning: We expanded off-campus learning opportunities like our Traverse program, helping students apply their learning in real-world settings and build independence.
Over the next five years, Rundle’s evolution will be guided by our new strategic plan with a vision that honours our foundational commitment to character, wellness, and strong relationships while proactively preparing our students for a rapidly changing world.
A major milestone in this vision is the full integration of our Building Futures expansion at Rundle Academy. The opening of a new building – featuring 34 state-of-the-art classrooms, specialized breakout spaces, individual work pods, and enhanced athletic areas – will allow us to welcome up to 175 additional students with learning disabilities. As this community grows, we will continue adding expert educators to preserve our low student-to-teacher ratios and personalized care.
