On May 29th, The Sacred Heart School of Montreal Sec V student, Olivia Iorio will be shaving her head for cancer, at the school, in honour of her cousin, Vincenzo, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a cancer that forms in different types of nerve tissues. “From then on, I knew right away what I had to do and that I did not want to back down!” said Olivia. Sadly, Vincenzo passed away in April - he was 8 years old.
Olivia’s goal is to raise $10,000 for the Montreal Children’s Hematology/Oncology Department. With the support of her family, close friends, and the Sacred Heart community, she will be shaving her head and will be going to her graduation dance bald! Her donated hair will be made into a wig for a little girl or boy that needs it.
