About this Day Camp

This camp is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Responsibility: This program offers skill development and instruction, and then the opportunity to take initiative and practice those skills as a volunteer with the younger groups.
  • Interpersonal skills: This program offers young people the opportunity to discuss ideas, practice great communication and reflect on what it means to be a leader.

LIT Program (13-15 years) *New to 2024*

Join us as we pilot our first LIT program! After a couple years of mentoring younger high school students and aspiring summer camp counsellors Out to Play is now offering a LIT group program. With small groups and low ratios (1:6) this program offers skill development and mentorship, opportunities to practice learned skills mentoring younger groups, and time for play and reflection.

Each program offers:

  • Hiking
  • Wilderness skills (knot tying, tarp installations, fire-building)
  • Leadership skills 
  • Communication skills
  • Storytelling
  • A volunteer certificate upon completion
