Highlights from the interview
What I appreciated the most was how much the teachers cared about each and every individual student. They really took the time to get to know us on a personal basis, understand our strengths and weaknesses, and work with us individually to make sure our needs were being met. They made sure we were getting that really personal experience, and that really helped us develop.
You really feel like your presence is valued when you enter, which is really special… The minute you walk in, at least three different people say hello to you by name.
My experience at KCS definitely prepared me for life in the real world. They teach you a lot of real-world values, like accountability, punctuality, respect, manners, and trying your best.
- They really value everyone being themselves and bringing what they can to the table. They appreciate what everybody contributes to the community, and they teach those real-world skills, like punctuality and determination, that you need when you grow up and become an adult.

They really teach you to take accountability for yourself and for your own learning. That's something I've carried with me, even though I might not have valued it so much at the time when I would get in trouble for forgetting my gym clothes.
My perspective has definitely shifted to recognizing that everything they did, they did for a reason. I think that's really important because it's helped me through life so far.
The leadership team was open and accessible. They were always there for anything we ever needed. It was never a matter of being told to go to your teacher first or go to someone else. If you went to them with a concern, they were always there to listen, no matter how big or small.
I was very, very involved in extracurriculars. I loved them, and I think there was definitely something for everybody. I really enjoyed them and made some of my best connections through extracurriculars.
There's definitely something for everybody, and they make it so much fun to be a part of.
I think I would be a very different person today if I didn't have a few very key educators in my life. I still get really excited when I go back to visit and see my old teachers. The relationships I had with them were something really special.
It comes down to the three school rules: respect, manners, and trying your best. At the end of the day, if that's what you bring to the table and all you learn from going to KCS, you're set up pretty well for life
You come out as a very well-rounded individual, no matter what your interests are, and it really helps you discover those interests… It really helps you learn things about yourself that you didn't know before, and it turns you into a very well-rounded person who's ready to enter the real world.
