    Gr. 9 - Gr. 12

(4.5) Student Experience

In my experience Hudson College is a fantastic school. I love how open and welcoming the school is to everyone. I also like the fact that at Hudson College you're not just a number within the system, here everyone cares about you and wants to see you succeed. One thing I wish I had a better grasp of is just how intense the semester system can get, especially considering I originally came from the public system. I love the semester system now and the many benefits it has. It just was a big change for me at the start that I wasn't really expecting. Overall though, Hudson College is a fantastic school that really wants to see you succeed and helps you achieve the goals that you want to achieve.

(4.5) School Leadership

At Hudson College the leadership here is always looking out for the students to make sure that everyone is having an enjoyable and safe experience. They also go through extensive lengths to help you achieve the grades that you want and need so you can move on the next chapter of your life. The staff does a great job of resolving the very few and minor conflicts that happen between the students in a timely and respectful manner. They also do a wonderful job of making time to see the students when the students need them so they aren't waiting for days. And they will even go around and ask the students how everything is going and to check in on them.

(4.5) Teaching

The teachers at Hudson College are all very nice and caring. In my experience, the teachers here want to see you succeed and move forward. This means that a lot of the teachers stay after school and/or are available during lunch to give you extra guidance and help. I also find that the teachers give a good balance of responsibility. This is because they give you homework to do but not enough to make you stay up until four in the morning trying to complete it. However, they also don't hold your hand through everything. Anouther great perk about the teachers at Hudson College is that they show intrest in your intrests and encourage you to persue them. Overall the teachers at Hudson College are all wonderful teachers.

(5) Academics

At Hudson College, we follow the government-mandated curriculum. However, I find that the teachers give a good balance of homework where it's enough that you're still practicing the content that you learned in class, but not to the point that it's all you’re doing every evening and you still have time for out of school activities. Hudson College also offers a wide range of courses from the arts like business, media, and visual. To your sciences like chemistry, physics, and biology. Then there's calculus, advanced functions. computer science & technologies. Also because of the three-semester system that is in place at Hudson College, you're able to have a flexible semester and balance the workload throughout the year. Because of all of these things, I truly believe that there is something for everyone at Hudson College.

(5) Extracurriculars

Hudson College offers a wide range of extracurriculars from the Arts, like Drama Club, Dance Club, and Art Club. In addition, there are clubs like Yearbook, Prom Committee, and Student Council. Then there are our sports. We offer a wide variety of sports from hockey, to soccer, to golf and everything in between. Also, if there isn't a club that you think should be available, you can talk to the principal about getting it created.

(4.5) Students

From the moment I first stepped into Hudson College on the first day of grade nine, I have always felt welcomed and part of a special community. And every day since then I have seen everyone come together to help each other through sad and hard times, to fooling around and being kids, to helping other students when they don't understand a concept or need help on a project. I've also seen every new student who walks through the doors instantly be included in our community and making friends on the first day. I have also noticed that the grades don't stick to themselves, so the grade twelves will talk to the grade nines and so on, and the older grades will help the younger grades with homework.

(4.5) School Life

The school life at Hudson College is really good, because there is a room for everyone here, If you want to relax in between classes there is the Common Room which has couches and coffee tables, for conversing over, table tennis tables to relax the mind and have friendly tournaments, and a foosball table for the same reason. There is also a piano to listen to other students play music and there are two vending machines so you can purchase drinks and snacks. If you are more interested in a technology-based room there is The Zone which is a more modern room with a quiet atmosphere for studying alone or together, and some TVs to have classes on. There is also the IHub which has a virtual reality system and 3D printers if that's more your style. Finally, if you just like to relax and talk to your friends then there is the cafeteria, and if you want to hold a basketball match or something along those lines there is always the gym.

(4.5) Community

I thoroughly enjoy the community that has been created and perfected by the students and teachers over the years at this school because Hudson College feels like a family in some aspects. Here, everyone cares about each other, even though we occasionally have our arguments and disputes, we are human after all and we aren't all going to agree on the same things. At the end of the day, we all care about each other and we all try to support and help each other to the best of our abilities. We also push each other to reach farther and achieve harder goals. You also see everyone do a good job in trying to make sure that everyone is included in one way or another and all around creating a wonderful and great community to be in.

(5) School Location

The location of Hudson College is great because it is in a really nice and friendly neighbourhood with a park nearby that we can utilize for activities and sports. Then there’s St. Clair Avenue West less than a five-minute walk from where we are which has a bunch of fast food restaurants like Tim Hortons and McDonald's, and other restaurants and cafes so there is something for everyone.

(5) Admissions

I found the admission process to be very straightforward and overall an easy and well thought out process. The information that you have to fill out is organized into different sections with thorough instructions on what you have to do. You can also register for a tour of the school that is done through students that are part of Hudson Ambassadors, or a teacher. During this tour, you get to see the entire school and what it has to offer, as well as talking to different teachers and students to get a feeling of what they think of the school. Which I found to be really helpful because it's great to get information from the source and it really helps people who are on the edge and aren't entirely sure they want to go here.
