Choosing an independent or private school that has creative programs such as music, drama, dance and visual arts allows your child to discover what they are passionate about. In turn, they will also enjoy school more and lead to increased school attendance. This new motivation will help students learn and concentrate, resulting in better grades.
“Now it (the stage) is a passion,” says Ryan, a student at St. Andrew’s College in Aurora, Ontario. “I love anything I can do on the stage. I love the adrenaline rush at the curtain call.”
Students are able to further develop their imagination and enhance their creative thinking skills. Creative programs will also help increase children’s confidence and in the case of theatre, dance or music, students will learn about presenting in front of an audience and how to improvise.
