My son loves Aurora Preparatory Academy. He is proud to wear his uniform and holds himself to a higher standard. It makes me so happy and proud to witness and support this. He enjoys dressing in the morning, always making sure to tuck his shirt in, as that's what is expected. I wasn't sure if the novelty of the uniform would wear off, but it has made all of our lives easier. He never dreads going to school anymore, but rather, looks forward to what each day will bring, and what kind of a difference he can make. I have no feedback whatsoever or how they could improve - we have honestly been so thrilled with the experience and the results. It's quite literally one of the best decisions we have ever made, and worth every penny.
My children have both had a wonderful school life at APA. They have played sports, been pushed academically, been in plays, had wonderful field trips, all in a very welcoming environment. It is really important to me that my children had a great place to be 6 hours a day. APA is that place. I often hear my friends complaining about their children's experience in school - their interaction with their peers or their teachers, not getting the attention they deserve, rules that don't work for their kids. I have never had these complaints. There is a culture of kindness and involvement. My kids were always engaged and included. APA have given my kids a safe, respectful place where they are part of a wonderful, loving community.
My son absolutely loves Aurora Preparatory Academy, and he would not change to a different school. He enjoys spending time with his new friends, and to my surprise he really loves the academic learning experiences at APA. He mentions to me frequently: " Mom, we are actually learning things here." Having a child who loves to go to school to learn where he is surrounded by like-minded kind children and supportive staff means a lot to me as a parent. The schools has something fun planned for the students all the time. My son looks forward to going to school, instead of being nervous about it. I only have good things to say about Aurora Prep's school life so far. We hope the staff keeps up the amazing work they are doing.
Without a question APA has helped my daughter not only grow leaps and bounds in academics but her social skills, participation and in sports has been astonishing from where she was in her old school. This is all in part from the Principals, the dedicated teachers, the sports coaches that give and give and keep giving the kids a chance to participate in the school tournaments. It is a lot of work for such a small school to be a part of these tournaments but they do it. And in doing that that give their students the best of the best foot forward, learn sportsmanship and experiencing being part of the team. My daughter experienced more at APA in two months than she did in 6 years in public school system.
