Is there such a thing as a list of the "best private schools in Canada"? Obviously not. The Fraser Institute does present annual report cards on schools in various provinces and some people do find these ratings/listings helpful as they search for the best private school for their children. (The Fraser Institute rankings do often list private schools as the best schools, in fact, although some charge that their criteria are meaningless.)
Our Kids would never claim to list the best private schools in order, nor should you trust anyone who makes this claim. Schools that list with us, though, are confident enough and strong enough to be able to list with our site. In that way, we might say that many of the schools listing with us are among the best or top private schools in Canada.

Ranking of schools does no justice to the colourful variety of independent schools available and it does nothing to truly help you as a unique parent of a unique child. To find the best private school for your child you will have to do much of the legwork yourself. You may want to start with the Fraser Institute rankings as a guideline but there are many factors beyond academic records.
You should also consider the following:
- School environment should be a major determinant in your choice
- School policies toward bullying and other discipline issues
- Academic philosophies and affiliations and how well they suit your child
- The strain on your family of distance, tuition rates and other factors.
These are factors you need to determine on your own by investigating the school, perhaps at one of Our Kids' school expos in order to determine a short list of best private schools.
