Overall Dragon really helped me grow as an individual and develop interests of my own. Although that sounds cheesy it really helped me know what I wanted to do in my future not only in a practical sense in regards to my post secondary choice but rather what I wanted out of life and who I wanted to be. The community of people there where so close and I made life long friendships with amazing people. Dragon made someone who had always been at odds with the education system and showed me how amazing learning could be.
The administration and leadership at Dragon was amazing. Not only where teachers nice and welcoming but we always had an open and honest dialogue with teachers about what they needed from us and what we needed from them.
The teaching is unique and amazing at Dragon. Classes are held around a large table and it really is an open dialogue where students are able to ask questions and have discussions with teachers and each other. The teaching was definitely a highlight at Dragon and is an integral part of the culture.
Academics are quite strong at Dragon. Students can really customize there education and get the best out of it. Personally I did more creative classes and humanities and felt my classes where very good. But my peers who choose to do more science and math got the same high quality academics as me in a completely different area.
The student body was really an amazing part of my experience at Dragon. Not only where the people in my class amazing but through all of the grades students are great and are all willing to be part of a larger community.
I enjoyed going to school everyday at Dragon. The overall energy is very passionate and really makes you want to be there.
I have kept up with students after leaving the Dragon and I have been back many times after graduating. Parents are always welcome and it really is a friendly community.
Extracurriculars are the one weak point of Dragon. In all there where very few year long extracurriculars or clubs. But I am not one for extracurriculars anyways but I still felt very encouraged and supported in personal projects with teachers always willing to help in something that I was working on independently.
I wish I could give a higher rating than 10. Dragon is really located in the best location for a school. Right at St George Station it's in a super central location and there is so much to do around the school both for academics and for fun.
Applying to the Dragon was a great process. I got to have a tryout day at Dragon where I could see if it was a fit for me and everything around that was smooth when it comes to applying.
Like I said before Dragon really helps you know what you want to do when it comes to post secondary. Applying through the Dragon was great and I got into my first choice program.
