The teaching staff are the lifeblood of the school, and the school has distinguished itself by finding such a committed, passionate group of educators. Similar to the administration, we find the teachers really want to be at the school. They are passionate about working to advance girls' education, aren't afraid of the hard work required to bring an entire class forward, and build lifelong bonds with their students. They often bring diverse thinking from their diverse backgrounds, and expertise from their fields of study and work experiences. They don't just teach the curriculum, rather, they live it. The teachers at St. Margaret's are ably and fantastically supported by a wide range of educational assistants, providing an extra level of support and expertise where needed. We've been absolutely pleased with the superior level of communication through the school year, both as required by the school and also with what the teachers do in addition. They are welcoming, strong and accomplished--the perfect examples for young girls to learn from.
The teachers at SMS are fantastic! All 3 of girls love their teachers! The teachers are knowledgable, not just about their subject areas or grades, but also about girls at particular ages and the social and relational changes and developments that occur, and often provide insightful and intelligent responses to queries that may not be about adcademics but about social or relational issues. Every teacher we have worked with has provided meaningful and constructive feedback, and provided support in the classroom as required. They are also very helpful to parents that need to provide extra support to their daughter at home (e.g., providing parents with information, games, ideas etc. to provide support at home).
At St. Margaret’s School the teachers are incredible. They do have high standards, but it only pushes students to strive for and achieve their true potential throughout all class and extra curricular activities. Sometimes the homework can feel like a lot, but its only the pressure that comes with us wanting to do our best, which is of course encouraged by teachers. They are incredibly supportive of all students and believe in us, even when we don’t believe in ourselves. Success looks different for every person, and each teacher offers a varied meaning on what success is to them. The image of success for us students is being happy. If you have reached your goal and achieved what you set out to do, success follows. Being confident and happy in what you have achieved, means that then, you have truly succeeded in life.
Our experience of the teaching thus far has been exemplary. Small class sizes allow the teachers to focus on the strengths and weaknesses of each student individually. When special needs arise they are attended to and worked on in a manner far exceeding my expectations. Our daughter is challenged and supported in all areas and we are so grateful for the teachers we have.
Exceptional. The reason we love SMS.
