The student body fosters an atmosphere of kindness, caring and respect for their peers, teachers, the administration and their community. They take pride in their school, academics and personal development. I like that the students have various opportunities to interact with each other. For example, my son's Grade 3 class got partnered up with students in Junior Kindergarten and they would read to their student buddies. Also last year my son's Grade 2 class got together with the Kindergarten class during gym class to teach the younger students various sports drills. The senior students are also encouraged to help out with the younger students during lunch time preparation or helping them get packed up after school. The senior students also put on various initiatives and fundraisers as part of their IB program requirements. For example they organized an after school movie night, where the student gathered in the school gym to watch a movie with drinks and snacks.
From what we have seen, the vast majority of the students are wonderful, fun loving, caring, yet motivated, inquiring minded, children and young adults. They interact well together, and collaborate well when completing projects, assignments or participating in sports. They really get along and encourage each other. Our child has formed many friendships with fellow students over the years and has maintained those friendships. Overall, there are quite a few students at Lynn-Rose Heights. The class rooms are perfect in size of approximately 16 students each, so they are not overcrowded. There are three buildings. The Primary Years Campus, the Middle Years Campus, and Lynn- Rose College which is the Sr. Years Campus.
The school population at Lynn Rose is small which is what attracted us to the school when we initially met with them many years ago. We really like that the campuses are small and quaint and the facilities are adequate extremely well maintained for the students. One of the best qualities of the school is it's size and population. It allows for the students to all know each other and build strong bonds that they take with them year after year. The students interact very well together regardless of their class and age. Respect is expected from all the students and enthusiasm is high in the school. My daughters love going to school and have built strong relationships with their peers as well as the teachers.
I believe that LRH invest so much time with the students to teach them to treat eachother with respect and kindness. They all seem very caring towards eachother. The older kids are always helping out the younger ones and take the time to teach them and help them when needed. They truly give them someone to look up to. The classrooms are small so it gives the kids a chance to really get to know each other on a much more personal level.
