Lakefield, ON | Grades 9 - 12 | Shortlist
The school is located in a gorgeous plot of land on the edge of a lake. It is a beautiful location and has a small town right next door. Students enjoy going into town for a meal or ice cream. The school advertises that our nature brings out the best in their nature, and it truly does. The school residences are spread along the lake so many of them look out onto the water. The school building is further away but is surrounded by trees and beautiful views. So much of the school has large windows.
Lakefield College School campus is on a picturesque lakefront. Acres and acres of land for the students to embrace and explore. The little town of Lakefield is a short walk down the road and provides the students with the opportunity to run errands, grab a bite and have "town life" in their downtime. Peterborough is a short drive away and provides for a few school night "outings" to a bigger town. Day students live in the surrounding towns and Peterborough.

The people of the village have accepted the students and collaborate with them on some community events including the Santa Claus parade. The village offers modern conveniences of Tim Hortons, Subway and Pizza Hut, but also eclectic small-town stores selling specialty chocolates and sandwiches.
