Upper Canada Child Care has weeks of fun planned this summer for each of our camp groups. Our programs focus on strengthening social skills and building positive relationships all while having a good time. We provide an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment and we believe time spent outdoors having adventures builds self-confidence and a sense of belonging to the community.
While we love bright, sunny days, inclement weather creates an opportunity to provide more varied outdoor play experiences. As long as weather conditions are safe for children to play outside, groups will participate in outdoor play.
We have 33 locations offering a multi-activity day camp for your child to enjoy. See our Day Camp page on uppercanadachildcare.com for more information about locations near you and planned outings.
Our time will be balanced between organized activities, both outdoors and indoors, such as games, sports, water play, crafts, building projects, science, and cooking etc., and child-guided activities where campers can pursue their own interests.
Our Parent Resource page provides information about our COVID-19 response. We hope that our experience providing child care during the pandemic will set your mind at ease as we implement all Public Health requirements to keep campers safe and well.
Sr. Campers (ages 6 to 12)
Sr. Campers experience varied activities at our camp locations and one field trip weekly. Trip destinations vary between local community green spaces and highlights such as Tree Top Trekking, conservation area programs, and Wet n' Wild Waterpark. (Trips vary by region and by camp and are subject to change or cancellation.)
Jr. Campers (Kindergarten)
Jr. Campers will be enjoying amazing daily activities and a weekly field trip! Highlights of the trips planned include local community parks and splash pads, as well as trips to locations like Tree Top Trekking, and The Kortright Centre for Conservation. (Trips vary by region and by camp and are subject to change or cancellation.)
Character Development: This program helps build the following traits
Interpersonal skills: We focus on showing affection and bonding with children, over directing and correcting behaviours. We foster inclusive, bias-aware programs, and relate in culturally and developmentally sensitive ways. We build empathy through role-modelling and encouraging a culture of care, respect and acceptance.
Curiosity: We find campers fully engage in experiences that grow from their natural curiosity, ideas, imagination, and interests. We strive to inspire campers to test themselves and take appropriate risks to boost enjoyment and extend learning. Camp staff participate as co-planners and co-investigators.
