A team of Highschool students from the Markham Region (Students at SV Robotics Academy) attended the Start Up weekend at York University. They went head first against university students from different post secondary institutions across Ontario placing 3rd and winning a monetary prize for their work!
Their project encompassed utilizing machine learning to help reduce environmental impact by farming corporations by finding ideal locations for crop cultivation in comparison to farming corporations investing capital to re-purpose land for their crop purchase. An example would be utilizing sensors, identifying attributes of the soil and providing a front-end dashboard for suggestions.
