This course introduces students to the world of business. Students will develop an understanding of the functions of business, including accounting, marketing, information and communication technology, human resources, and production, and of the importance of ethics and social responsibility.This course builds a foundation for further studies in business and helps students develop the business knowledge and skills they will need in their everyday lives. Prerequisite: None

Our summer academy offers blended learning credit courses, with 2 weeks spent on our campus, and 2 weeks spent online to complete the credit.  

While on campus, students engage in authentic learning experiences that advance them toward earning an Ontario Secondary School credit  during mornings, and choose from a wide array of traditional camp activities in the afternoon. The program is rounded out by afternoon and evening programming at our waterfront and on our beautiful rural campus.

Character Development:

  • Self-regulation: In both the academic and the athletic aspects of this program, students are prompted to identify their strengths and passions and find ways of using both to advance their understanding, whether of a business problem or an athletic skill. Teaching techniques encourage personalized learning and growth
  • Curiosity: In taking a blended learning course, students must monitor their own time and organize themselves effectively for work completion while learning remotely. On campus, they must balance fun, socialization, and athletic commitments with academic responsibilities.
