Intended for ages 7+, campers will explore a variety of fun themes and materials, such as cartooning, painting with watercolours and acrylics on canvas, and sculpting with polymer clay! Every day, we will create a variety of amazing projects, which may include creating a mini-comic/storybooks, custom t-shirts, painted animation cells, pixel art, flipbooks, figurines, and more.
The 2020/21 Experience at Create with Kirshy
We are excited to announce that registration is now open for our Create With Kirshy Art/Multimedia Super Summer Camp (Ages 7 +) for one-week sessions starting July 6, 2020.
Program Details Although our doors have been closed these past few months, we have been hard at work, planning a fun-filled creative full-day (9 am -3:30 pm with free aftercare until 6 pm) experience, where young artists will draw, paint and sculpt a variety of fun activities, including mini-comics/storybooks, games and figures/ figurines to take home. To address health and safety concerns, each registration will include the cost of individual supplies/ materials so participants will not be sharing these with others. Health/Safety Measures
We are diligently planning to ensure that once our space is able to open our participants will feel safe to visit and attend classes.
-Small groups (limited to 10 participants/session in accordance with COVID safety measures; subject to change/further limitation) -Social-Distancing personal activity areas/ work stations -Multiple hand-sanitizer machines installed throughout the facility -All tables/chairs/equipment sanitized multiple times a day -Social distancing floor markers and daily pre-screening to promote staff and camper health and safety -Included: Individual Supply/ Material Kits, as well as masks (mandatory)

Shane Kirshenblatt , Head Instructor
Create With Kirshy was founded by Shane Kirshenblatt, a multi-disciplinary artist and instructor with over 20 years of experience. Specializing in sculpting, painting, animation development, toy design and comics/ graphic novels, his work can be seen in the award-winning Mark Twain's Niagara Vol.1, and SCI: Jewish Comics Anthology Vol. 2 (both by AH Comics), as well as the Joe Shuster/Canadian Comic Book Awards-nominated Toronto Comix Vol.3, and Hogtown Horror Vol.1. Outside of his artistic practice and extensive fundraising efforts for organizations such as WWF, Ronald McDonald House, and Canadian Cancer Society, Shane has been running youth-oriented, arts-based programming at Ontario schools (as a five-time recipient of the Ontario Arts Council Artists In Education grant), camps (as Head of Creative Arts at Zodiac Day Camp, and past Leadership Experience and Development/ Counsellor In Training program Coordinator), and special events (Paradise Toronto Comic-Con, and Niagara Falls Comic Con) since 1998.

Staff and campers occasionally use computers/ software for certain activities, though participants are urged to leave their devices at home.

Create With Kirshy is an art school/program in Thornhill, Ontario, focusing on teaching children, teens, and adults skills for traditional art (drawing painting, sculpting), comics, and animation. All programs are taught by industry professionals who share their extensive experience with participants to help them reach their personal goals and express ideas in a fun and supportive environment. We offer a variety of year-round programming including after-school arts activities for children 5+, as well as extensive courses (weekly sessions for 4 - 8 weeks) for participants of all ages and skill levels. Additionally, we run specialty camps during the summer and some school holidays/ Professional Activity Days, as well as a variety of art party package options and other specialty workshops.
