Esports — video gaming organized into amateur and professional seasons of play and capstone tournaments — has exploded in popularity over the last several years. Millions tune in to watch including on televised events like TSN. Students are even getting post-secondary scholarships for eSports just like they do for sports like football. The great thing about these organized games is they promote socialization, teamwork, and strategic thinking. In our eSports camp, we will cover a variety of topics including

Parents be advised this camp involves lots of screen time and cartoon violence. If this is a concern of yours you may want to sign up for one of our other camp themes. Students will be using our network of Playstation consoles and laptop computers.

We will be exploring eSport titles such as Rocket League, Apex Legend, Smite, Star Craft, and Among Us.

Building an audience to increase your chances of getting recruited.
Branding & marketing (content building, video editing, canva), gaming streaming
Skills in specific game types (target practice, strategy, teamwork) 
Public speaking & [team] communication skills

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Interpersonal skills: Working with other students to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Self-regulation: Managing time between gaming, and designing.
