Our Kids Publications Ltd. (OKP) is the brainchild of award-winning Toronto Star photographer Andrew Stawicki. His infectious energy and constant search for "getting the shot" have driven Our Kids to the place it stands today as a national leader of magazines for families.

In collaboration with his wife, graphic designer Margaret Stawicki, photo editor Peter Robertson and his wife, editor Michelle Robertson, Andrew started Our Kids Publications Ltd. in 1997.

Our Kids Go To Camp, an annual magazine devoted to helping parents find the right camp for their children, was launched in 1998. Professional photography and first-person stories from campers, parents and staff capture camp life. Tips, advice, must-have info and camp profiles make this a great resource.

In 1999, OKP followed with Our Kids Go To School, an annual magazine devoted to helping parents find the best education for their children. With more and more parents concerned with the quality of education their children are receiving and asking for more school choice, many are turning to private and independent schools.

With these two magazines established, the OKP concept has been refined to present relevant, reliable and comprehensive information for decision-making about both camp programs and private education.

But the concept doesn't stop here.

With our formula well established, OKP decided to branch out and look toward meeting the needs of senior citizens as they explore the choices they face with aging.

In October 2002, Comfort Life joined the OKP family. We believe we offer a superior concept that will help families navigate the vast array of retirement living and seniors' health care options, to make the best choice for each individual's needs.

In 2002, OKP also branched out from publishing to organize an Our Kids Private Education School Fair in Toronto. Over the years, thousands of people have attended our shows to learn about their options in private education from private and independent schools across Canada. Presently, Our Kids hosts four shows: Ottawa, Oakville and Toronto in Ontario and Vancouver in British Columbia. Our Kids Private Education School Fairs are Canada’s most successful, best-attended educational events. We provide an outstanding one-on-one, face-to-face opportunity for parents searching for alternative education options to ask questions and speak with school representatives.

The latest additions to Our Kids Publications are the DIALOGUE magazines. The first for Independent School Educators, and the second for Retirement Residence Professionals, these books are developed by and for the industry community with a uniquely Canadian perspective. They aim to explore the latest practices and research and inform industry professionals with engaging and thought provoking articles.
