Learning About Christianity

Your child’s early years are the ideal time in which to enroll in a Christian school. Young children in these formative years ask questions about faith. Questions they might have in elementary school include: What is God? Why does my family have yearly celebrations? What does Easter represent? What do all the prayers that we say mean?

Going to a Christian elementary school will teach your child the reasons behind certain Christian traditions. An elementary Christian school education will help build your son or daughter’s religious identity.

The Bible is complex and an early introduction in elementary school will ensure your child develops a deep understanding of concepts of the faith and Bible stories. These lessons teach values and morality at a young age, treating them not merely as academic subjects. Lessons promote character development, instead of just intellectual advancement. You will also feel at ease knowing your child’s curriculum and textbooks are unlikely to contain material that you object to.

Christian schools are some of the most affordable of all private schools in Canada. Because they are so passionate about teaching the word of God, Christian schools offer a variety of financial aid options, also. In addition, many provinces have tax deductions for parents who send their child to a school with religious instruction.

In elementary school especially, students see teachers as role models. The elementaruy school classroom is thus a great platform for exposure to key Christian lessons and values.

The Academic Rigour of a Christian Education

Christian schools have two primary focuses of instruction: religious teachings and the regular curriculum. As such, children at these institutions have extra areas that they need to study. This dual-curriculum is a great way to prepare for the increased workload that high school will bring. Plenty of parents and students note that the demands of Christian elementary school made the transition to high school seamless.

Things to Consider Before Choosing a School
